During our last visit to Lebanon, we visited a great touristic place which is Our Lady of Lebanon in Harisa and we got there by the Teleferique. This place is located in Jounieh, after Beirut towards the north.
To get to Our Lady of Lebanon, there are two ways. The first way is to go by car but you will have to go through the mountain roads and the other way is to park your car in the Teleferique station on the coastal road and then buy a ticket and go by Teleferique.
The price of a ticket is 9000 L.L which is about 2 KD and the Teleferique trip is 10 minutes to get to the top of the mountain where Our Lady of Lebanon is located and the Teleferique passes by the main road and buildings. When going, the movement is ascending and when going back to the sea side, the movement is descending.
The view from above is amazing and the place is so nice as you can see in the photos below.
There is a restaurant and cafeteria up there and souvenir shops as well.
After we were back by Teleferique, we passed by a shop selling handcrafts made with the wood of the Lebanese Cedars. You can choose any piece and ask the man in charge to write anything you want on it. The fragrance of Cedar wood is in every corner of the shop.
Back to Beirut, we stayed in Bay View Hotel that is located in Ain Mrayse and it has a panoramic sea view as shown below. As for the service of the hotel, it’s good and the atmosphere is calm and comfortable.
All in all, we spent a great day in Harissa and if you are going to visit Lebanon soon, don't miss visiting Our Lady of Lebanon and the most important advice is: Go by Teleferique!
