Traditional Nigerian Dishes and Snacks

After living in Nigeria for almost 15 years, I can for sure say that Nigerian Food is one of the best around the world although Nigerian cuisine didn't get the chance to become popular around the world.

I can still remember the moistness of the gari or eba, the aroma of Jollof Rice and Suya meat, the softness of the Nigerian bread known as Agege bread, the mouthwatering taste of meat pies and sausage rolls, the crunchiness of plantain chips and groundnut, the amazing flavor of Egusi, Okro soup and many more.

Nigerian cuisine consists of many types of stews that are prepared with meat, chicken or fish and many stews are eaten with eba, fufu, yam and other Nigerian traditional options that also include rice sometimes.

There are also many snacks like meat pies, sausage rolls, plantains boiled or roasted or fried or prepared like chips, groundnuts, Agege bread, Chinchin etc.

Take a look at these popular traditional Nigerian Dishes and Snacks.
