Cinema in Kuwait has a long story to tell and history to talk about starting from the year 1954 when a bold and ambitious idea was born by a number of Kuwaiti businessmen to construct their first Film Release and Distribution Company in the Gulf area.
By then, it was a trend among Kuwaiti merchants to watch movies in their houses using 8mm and 16mm theatrical machines.
Friends and neighbors were invited to watch those movies.
Below are some old memories from cinema in Kuwait, you can find them in Cinescape 360 mall branch where there is a section about the cinema's development through years.
